Linda Mylin RossLinda retired from Penn State Harrisburg where she was a faculty member for 25 years teaching courses in art history, studio art and art education. There she curated over 200 art exhibits in two campus galleries. She holds an MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art, an MA in Interdisciplinary Humanities from Penn State and a BS in Art Education from Millersville University. In 2009 she retired from full time teaching to shift her professional focus toward her own art production, adjunct work at Elizabethtown College and, for three years, teaching and curating exhibits at The Marietta Arthouse.

She has exhibited her drawings and paintings widely in museums, galleries and regional, state and national juried exhibits, winning awards in many of these. The Pennsylvania State Museum, The Woodmere Museum, Philadelphia, The Demuth Museum, The Reading Museum, The Susquehanna Art Museum, The Lancaster Museum of Art and The Paul Robeson Center, State College are a few of the institutions that have exhibited her work. She has also had invitational solo exhibits at numerous colleges including Elizabethtown College, Penn College of Technology, Harrisburg Area Community College, Penn State Harrisburg, and has been included in small group exhibits at Millersville University, Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, Maryland Institute College of Art, Messiah College, Lancaster Museum of Art, York College and Lebanon Valley College.  Currently her work fills a suite at the Lancaster Arts Hotel and she is actively involved with the PA Art Experience as an exhibiting artist.

Juried exhibits include “Rural Images, “ Pennsylvania State Farm Show (award) Doshi Center for Contemporary Art, “Images 2001” and “Images 2004,” (award) State College, New Arts Program, “Eastern Pennsylvania Artists’ Small Works,” Kutztown, “Pennsylvania Artists,” the Governor’s Mansion, Harrisburg,  “Pennsylvania Painters and Printmakers,” Penn State University, Art Association of Harrisburg Annual International Juried Exhibit (award), and several years of acceptance in “The Art of the State,” State Museum, Harrisburg (award). In addition, she participated in “The Annual Small Works Invitational” at Blue Mountain Gallery, Chelsea, New York, and Susquehanna Artists Invitational II at Messiah College, Grantham.  In 2010 she had a solo exhibit of new paintings and drawings at the PA Arts Experience Visitor’s Center in Lancaster. Her work is in numerous private collections as well as Penn State University, Penn College, Elizabethtown College and the Harrisburg Hilton.

She has been asked to jury many exhibits including student shows at Franklin and Marshall College, Messiah College, and Wilson College. She has also been a juror for the Annual Mount Gretna Art Show, Lititz Art Show, Lancaster County Art Association Membership Exhibit, York Art Association Membership Exhibit, Doshi Center for Contemporary Art, Art Association of Harrisburg Annual Membership Exhibit, Jewish Community Center Exhibit, Harrisburg and for the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts. She has served on juries for the Lancaster County Regional Scholastic Art Awards for many years as well.

The artist lives in an historic house in Marietta PA with her husband Michael and several feline friends.
